Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs)

Many employers offer Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs). An EAP is a work-based intervention program created to help employees deal with personal issues that might negatively influence their work performance.

EAPs have traditionally helped employees with problems like alcoholism or substance abuse, but today the majority offer assistance with a wide range of problems, including those related to wellness, child or elder care, relationships, money or legal issues, financial difficulties, and traumatic events.
