Interventional Psychiatry Technician Job Summary
The Interventional Psychiatry Technician observes and attends to patients undergoing interventional medical services.
Interventional Psychiatry Technician Core Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Effectively and accurately performs laboratory procedures including completion of drug screens, venipuncture draw, vital signs,
- Assists patients by preparing for TMS and Spravato treatments
- Assists with treatment as directed and in accordance with policy and procedure
- Monitors patient’s vital signs and mental status during treatment as outlined in protocols
- Conducts COVID-19 tests, urine drug screens, and other screening instruments as necessary
- Appropriately documents in Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
- Ensures compliance with all policies and procedures, including maintaining patient confidentiality, as well as compliance with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, etc.)
- Administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering multi-line phone system, relaying messages in a timely manner, communicating with both in house and outpatient treatment providers

Interventional Psychiatry Technician Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-year prior healthcare experience preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications:
- Current Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Phlebotomy certification required.
- Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification required.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge of medications, standard medical procedures, and administrative procedures.
- Ability to effectively measure patient vitals (I.e. blood pressure) and perform procedures such as venipuncture and specimen collection.

Physical Requirements
- This is an office-type role with primarily sedentary job duties and limited reaching, pulling, pushing, or carrying.
- This job requires the use of medical equipment used to take patient vitals, perform venipuncture, and take specimen samples for other tests.
