Ashton Anselmo is a Temporarily Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider designation (LPC-MHSP (Temp)). They received their B.S. in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University and their Ed.S. in Professional Counseling from Middle Tennessee State University.

Since 2017, Ashton has worked in a variety of mental health settings in the Nashville area including residential, crisis, intensive outpatient programs, nonprofits, and private practice.

Ashton has experience helping clients with mood disorders, bipolar disorder, PTSD, substance abuse, anxiety disorders, OCD, ADHD, and autism. Ashton specializes in helping clients with historically oppressed identities, particularly LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. Ashton values cultural humility, advocacy, and trauma-informed care.

Ashton takes a holistic approach to their practice, utilizing evidence-based interventions and techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), Person-Centered Therapy, Art Therapy, Gottman method counseling, Motivational Interviewing, etc. Ashton aims to provide a safe and inviting environment for clients from a wide variety of backgrounds to connect more deeply with themselves, others, and the world. Ashton enjoys helping clients develop the skills needed to deeply improve their lives in the long term.

When Ashton is not at the office, they enjoy doing yoga, weight lifting, hiking, thrifting, and art. Ashton enjoys spending time with their two cats or in nature.
