About Dr. Jennifer McKelvey
Ph.D.
Dr. McKelvey was born in South Korea and raised in California. She is a former professional ballet dancer who graduated from The Juilliard School in New York City. She is a licensed psychologist who received her M.A. and Ph.D. in Clinical and School Psychology from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She completed her predoctoral training at Bellevue Hospital in New York City and her postdoctoral training at the CEDAR Clinic at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Harvard Medical School. She is a generalist treating a number of conditions, predominately in late adolescence and adulthood.
Dr. McKelvey’s practice typically consists of individuals diagnosed with mood, anxiety, ADHD and psychotic disorders firmly grounded in evidence-based treatment. She has focused on the diagnosis and treatment of bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, subthreshold psychotic symptoms, and psychosis. Dr. McKelvey focuses on creating a safe environment where clients feel supported and accepted. She welcomes feedback so that individuals have a voice in their treatment and care. She conducts a range of diagnostic and psychological assessments with children and adults. Typically ages 6 and up.
