About Natalie Meckel

Natalie Meckel is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and following her undergraduate education she attended the Vanderbilt School of Nursing where she completed an RN and Master of Science in Nursing. Natalie brings a wealth of scientific knowledge to her practice and she is passionate about empowering patients with a thorough understanding of their mental health and medications.
Prior to Athena Care, Natalie worked as an RN in a crisis treatment center providing emergency psychiatric services, and as an NP in community mental health. While at Vanderbilt, she trained in various settings of psychiatric care, including substance use and pediatric inpatient treatment. Natalie treats the full spectrum of mental health conditions. She is particularly interested in managing bipolar disorder and supporting patients with chronic illnesses. Natalie’s treatment approach incorporates motivational interviewing, brief psychotherapy, and lifestyle modification in addition to medication.
Outside of work Natalie enjoys running, group fitness, cooking, photography, and travel.
