About Crystal Johnson
PMHNP-BC
Crystal is a double board-certified family and psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She has experience in both inpatient and outpatient medical and psychiatric settings. She received her post-Master’s certification from Maryville University. She also holds a Masters and Bachelors of science in nursing from Tennessee State University.
Crystal has worked in the medical field treating children, adolescent, and adult populations for over 14 years. She has experience treating patients who struggle with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-related disorders, ADHD, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. She also has experience treating patients with chronic pain issues that affect their mental health and understands the impact it has on their ability to function, quality of life, social, and family dynamics.
She has also worked in integrative and holistic medicine and prides herself on treating the total person, focusing the mind, body, and spiritual connection. She is passionate about taking a trauma-informed approach and enjoys providing education, awareness, and advocacy to those in need. She incorporates psycho-pharmacologic, psychotherapeutic, and alternative approaches to treat her clients. Her goal is bringing balance and awareness to the lives of those that she serves. She is skilled at attuning to others while providing safety and trust with no biases. She is transparent and enjoys holding space for clients allowing their total person to be seen and heard.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, live music, and anything to do with the performing arts.
